Introduction
When I am looking at fitness gear, I’m looking for something that will make me stronger and provide me with a great exercise home that I could only complete with some swear words. Can you find that the Sole ST90 helps you improve? Maybe. Could it turn you into a #! @$-ing shape? Most likely!
While I’ve ridden on numerous treadmills, I’m losing track–I’ve even snuck into gyms to test models that aren’t available even though we have the best. It’s the Sole ST90 is the HARDEST treadmill I’ve ever walked on.
I’m thankful to Sole for putting free training videos with trainers and apps such as Netflix as well as YouTube, using the touchscreen, since I’m using the Sole Fitness ST90. I’m looking for any distractions that can help me get through the day. However, there are times when my favorite show doesn’t suffice to distract me from my dark thoughts or my obscene language.
What is it that makes this Sole ST90 Treadmill so challenging? Let me guide you through the heart of the reasons why I don’t like the ST90.

Table of Contents
Who The Sole ST90 Treadmill Is Best For:
- High-End for High-Mileage runners: The Sole ST90 comes with a 2.0 HP motor that is normally only available in commercial-grade products. It can be able to handle heavy mileage when you want!
- Home Gym Fitness Equipment: The ST90 is a huge treadmill that is not foldable. It’s ideal for those who have dedicated areas to exercise equipment. It is also advised to keep pets and children out of the ST90 while it’s in use.
- Tough Runners who like cushioning: You’re looking for a cushioned treadmill that can absorb shocks, but don’t wish it to bounce you to the next step since it feels like cheating. The Sole Treadmill ST90 is a good choice.
- Cross-Trainers Sled push or run. The ST90’s belt is removed for a more intense walking exercise or even an occasional push sled.

Treadmills Are Our Specialty, and We’ve Got the Miles to Prove It
We’ve spent a lot of time using treadmills. The majority of treadmills we’ve tested are from Sole. We’re comfortable with the way they perform, feel, and work all-around. We’re thrilled to learn that Sole has expanded their line-up with a new flat slat belt treadmill.
We tested the Sole ST90; we tested it in comparison with other models from Sole, including F80 and F85, as well as other treadmills with slat belts, such as the TrueForm Trainer and AssaultRunner Elite, in addition to our previous experience with Peloton Tread+.

Sole ST90 Dimensions/Storability
Its model Sole ST90 has dimensions of 82.5 inches L, 38” wide, and 66” tall. We do not recommend moving it frequently due to its weight. It’s also not foldable like other slatbelt treadmills. The Sole ST90 Treadmill needs a specific area to be used at home.
Unfortunately, there’s no handle on the back of the treadmill for making lifting more comfortable, so the treadmill isn’t only heavy, but it is also difficult to move.
The Sole Treadmill ST90 has a step-up in height of 10 inches. It isn’t too difficult to manage. This means that the Sole ST90 has a suggested ceiling of 8.5′. It is important to note that we have provided plenty of space for a runner who is 6′ tall to exercise. If you’re smaller or taller, the ceiling height you require might differ.
The other treadmills of Sole feature attractive low deck heights like F63, F80, and F85. Because of its slat belt as well as massive rollers, the deck’s height is higher than that of Sole’s ST90. If you are at 0, it is approximately 10″ high. When evaluating your home’s size as well as the ceiling’s height, you need to consider the deck’s height, incline range, and height in order to decide if the room is high enough to be a ceiling.
Onboard Workouts & Apps
A treadmill that has a touchscreen by Sole, the Sole ST90, provides a wide range of features that are not subject to an additional cost for subscriptions. This is what you can expect from this touchscreen.
Frame/ Sole ST90 Review
It is worth noting that the Sole ST90 is the shape of a Z, which means the screen appears like it’s hovering above the deck’s front. It’s difficult to say if I am a fan of this design of the ST90, while it looks great, but the console isn’t very stable, as I’d prefer.
It’s a shame that the ST90 Sole could have used some more stability, which could be worth an extra point on our assessment of its build. However, the frame isn’t terrible. I can still stream all of the entertainment and training content without any issues.
The frame is made of steel with a black powder coating. There are some hints to Sole’s distinctive red as well as huge white branding across the sides. The footrails are smooth enough to provide a comfortable feel.
I did not have any issues jumping between the belt and the footrails when the belt was able to escape from me. The handrails could do with a bit more texture. They’re not smooth plastic, and I would prefer an elongated, soft rubber coating at this price. The rails are solid, but they are lacking the high-end quality and will likely irritate only a few people.

Motor/Sole ST90 Review
The motor is a 2.0 HP AC. Since this motor is an AC motor, it does not meet the norm of motor horsepower. The Sole ST90 is a great choice for being used for running and everyday use. Since it is the ST90 Sole Treadmill is an AC motor, it’s somewhat louder in comparison to its DC counterparts.
The ST90 isn’t the best choice for hopping users to reduce the noise of treadmills. To give you an example, it’s much quieter and less squeaky than the discontinued Peloton Tread+ and has greater speed and incline adjustability.
The motor is under the deck. I’m not certain, however, during testing, I noticed more vibrations underfoot as opposed to normal. I believe that the location of the motor has some influence on this. But I could be mistaken. Whatever the case, the tremors did not interrupt my running. It was just an unexpected feeling.

Deck/Sole ST90 Review
The Sole ST90 is a slat belt treadmill. It is a large space of 20″ x 60″ running surface that has a 10-inch step-up to a height. It has plenty of space for you to extend your stride. The console is set just a bit further back from the deck to prevent you from getting away from the side of the treadmill.
The motor’s hood is not present because of the motor’s position underneath the deck. It might take some time to adjust to this design; however, there is a low chance of falling off the belt’s front.
The belt offers soft cushioning; however, it doesn’t have the amount of spring some runners prefer. This design is perfect for those who require shock absorption but don’t wish to feel as though the treadmill is assisting them to run. The Sole ST90 slat belt treadmill is a little more challenging to use than cushioned, motorized treadmills. It’s an excellent way to boost the intensity of your training.

Incline/Decline
The Sole ST90 offers an incline range from zero to 15 percent. In manual mode, the ST90 Sole Treadmill can only be used with an incline limit of 8. It is not possible to decrease the treadmill, which could be disappointing for some people. A lot of high-end treadmills come with decline, which is why it’s an investment to buy an upright treadmill with slat belts like the ST90.
Console/Sole ST90 Review
The Sole ST90 slat belt treadmill features floating consoles with a large screen. The console is equipped with large buttons. There are incline and speed buttons on the sides that allow rapid changes between different settings.
These buttons don’t represent all of the speeds and incline options, and could be irritating. The ranges aren’t terrible; however, there’s no button to quickly adjust for setting the belt’s tension. It’s a bizarre option, but I believe that most treadmill users will be comfortable with it.
On the lower part of the console, you’ll locate a stop and start button that is located around the safety button. The one other button that is on this console is the one for the fan. Given the size of the console and such a large screen, you’ll find that the Sole ST90 Treadmill could have been equipped with additional buttons. Particularly, I would have loved to have a volume button, although you can adjust the volume by using the on-screen controls.

Screen/Sole ST90 Review
The Sole ST90 features a 15.6-inch touch screen. It’s got good images, but it’s not enough to compete with viewing content on a 4K television. Screens are moderately responsive. This means that there were times when I needed to press the screen several times to select the desired button, but it was not sensitive enough to prevent me from accidentally pressing buttons.
The interface of Sole is fairly simple to navigate. Users who are new to the system might benefit from studying the user guide; however, it’s not essential. The majority of users shouldn’t have any difficulty adjusting to the layout of the ST90.
Health benefits of Treadmills and supporting items

Bluetooth
The Sole ST90 is Bluetooth-compatible. It can be connected to the Sole+ app, or to the Garmin watch. The audio can also be Bluetooth, which means you can connect a smartphone with a Bluetooth headset to stream audio through them, or connect Bluetooth headphones to listen in peace. The audio quality is superior when I listen to my headphones; however, this will largely depend on the performance of the headphones, not the treadmill’s capacity.
Performance/Sole ST90 Review
The Sole ST90 is a powerful treadmill for running with distinctive features. The slat belt is a motorized design. The ST90 Sole is a little softer underfoot. It has excellent shock absorption, but has very little bounce.
If you’re looking for an intense workout and want to get your heart pumping, this is the one. Since the deck lacks much bounce and absorbs a lot of the energy that you’re producing with every step, the treadmill makes you work harder. This makes your workout more challenging as it’s like walking on grass.
The incline and speed switches close to the stability bar are the most convenient way for me to adjust the speed and incline during exercising. They can be slid down for quick adjustments, but it is possible that you will need to keep them in place longer than you thought. When they begin to adjust, they will adjust quite quickly. This is probably a safety feature to stop users from accidentally changing the speed of their incline or speeding too fast.
Warranty
The warranties Sole offers in the Sole ST90 aren’t as extensive as what they typically provide. The motor and frame come with a 5-year warranty, electronics and decks are covered for 3 years, and a one-year warranty for labor and parts. We’d like to have Sole expand the warranty of the motor and frame.
Should You Buy the Sole ST90
There are numerous characteristics in this Sole ST90 treadmill that are distinct from other treadmills made by Sole that we’ve tried. The strong AC motor, along with the flat-slat belt, as well as the elegant design, make it the perfect treadmill for high-intensity training. It is harder running on than on treadmills with motorized belts because of the cushioning on the deck.
There is also”free mode” or “free mode,” which lets the motor be turned off, so that you can control the speed of the belt using your feet. The ST90 is among the most flexible treadmills we’ve evaluated, which makes it an extremely effective device for conditioning your cardio. We love the fact that it has a 15.6″ touchscreen that can allow on-board workouts and streaming via apps such as Netflix.
If you’re in search of an exercise machine that can improve your fitness and training step up (or several), we suggest you check this model out.

Conclusion:
If you’re in search of an item that can take you to the ground with each step, I suggest that you consider the Sole ST90. Why? First of all, it’s extremely adaptable. The belt is disconnected from the motor to allow pushing sleds and then training backwards to burn the muscles of your legs. Additionally, the belt is a flat, slat belt. It’s different from the treadmills that I (and likely you) have used.
Instead of putting an extra bounce in the step as traditional motorized treadmills that have flat belts, the Sole ST90 Slat Belt Treadmill is more like running at the beach, without having sand get stuck between your feet.
It also features a 2.0 AC motor like those that are found in commercial treadmills, making it an extremely strong home treadmill. If you’re hoping to have you (you already know) delivered to you every time, then you need to buy this one.
Its Sole ST90 weighs 326 lbs. The treadmill is heavy and non-folding. It is best used in a fixed spot, so you don't need to move it frequently or even at all.
Slat belt treadmills aren't necessarily superior to traditional treadmills that have belts that are traditional belts. But some runners might appreciate the added cushioning or challenges of a slat-belt treadmill. It's the Sole ST90 has a manual training mode that's not typically used on treadmills that are not slat belt. Slat belt treadmills are generally considered to cost more than the other models. It is all a matter of personal preference.
Yes, it is, the Sole ST90 is Bluetooth enabled for music as well as to monitor heartbeat.
It is Sole ST90 is covered by 5 years of warranty for the frame and motor. The deck and the parts are covered for a period of 3 years. The wear and tear items, as well as labor, are covered under a 1-year warranty. Items that are cosmetically designed will last for a period of 90 days. Since ST90 is a treadmill designed for residential use, ST90 is a treadmill designed for residential use and is not covered for commercial usage.
After having built treadmills on our own, we strongly suggest having assistance when using this treadmill. It weighs around 400 pounds and will require at least two people to carry it.
